I#%92ll introduce myself, my name is Robert Jess I been on this message board since Jun of 2004. I am the owner of RJ Cleaning Service; we service commercial and Industrial buildings through out Central Massachusetts.

For suggestions: I would like to recommend name change of this sight.
I like the old name better, NAPC (National Association of Professional Cleaners).
It had a nice catch to the name. NCD (National Cleaning Directory), well all that means
Is exactly what it says, cleaning directory.

Next suggestion: reinstall moderators.
You could make Joel Daniels the moderator of
the commercial section. He was once the moderator there and is actually a good access
to the board and very knowledgeable with many years of experience in the cleaning industrial and has been a dedicated member of this board since Jun of 2003.

For residential
I would recommend Len (sprintcar93) he has a lot of experience in the residential area and has been a very dedicated member of the board since Apr of 2003 and is liked by many people.

For water cooler section
I think you should ask John the admin to be moderator, as you know of course he is the founder of the sight and it would be great to see him stick around. If he chooses not to, then I would recommend Brenda (domesticateddivas) she is a very nice person and has been a member since Aug of 2005, she is also pretty too,lol.

For general section
you could contact Timothy Nash he is a good guy and also he was a member since Jun of 2003

Carpet cleaning section
you should put JT Kessler he has been in the carpet business
Since 1989 that#%92s a lot of experience. He also has been a long member of the board since Sep of 2003 and use to be moderator of the carpet section.

The private section
I would delete it. its pretty much not of use.

Also maybe put an additional section like website and internet marketing
Since you are experience in this area you would be of great help.

Next suggestion:
I would recommend cleaning up the board a little maybe delete a lot of old threads
Were we had some pretty heavy fights. Or any areas were there might be some racial comments or anything that does not pertain to cleaning.

That#%92s about it that i can think of for now.

Some good ideas, RJ - except the one about me as moderator. No can do. I have no desire or inclination to babysit, or appease and/or be messed with by a board owner for their reasons. Being a moderator is mostly a thankless and payless assignment. But I appreciate the thought.

RJ, Nice to meet you! Thanks for the great advice, I appreciate it much and I will use it. Would it be ok if you checked out all the comments and replies on this thread in the residential forum? We have been working there on some ideas as well and it would be great to keep it all in one thread, maybe a little easier! Thanks!!

Joel, Nice to meet you! I understand your concerns about being a moderator, I hope you do not feel that I will be "messing" with you! I have no intentions of that, I just want to make this place even better than it is and need some more great advice from professionals like you - if it wasn't for people like you this board wouldn't exist.

I wouldn't make a very good moderator either. I've probably seen 1 thing on any board ever that needed edited (in my eyes). I'm usually the one GETTING edited or bitched at by a moderator. lol Thats why I've never wanted to be one. We've been doing fine without them or...if a moderator is needed...just have 1. If it is more work than 1 person can handle then we have something wrong anyway.....no?? [] The best way to run people off is to start editing.

What I will probably end up doing is giving moderator status to existing members who have been active for a while - of course if they choose. I hope to keep the board clean (no pun intended) but not to strict, just so that its enjoyable for everyone and family friendly.

Welcome Loren....Nice to meet you.It's good to see some new interest for the board.I have been on this board since early 2003.My wife Karon and I have been in the cleaning industry since 2000 and have done a little of everything,however nowdays it has been mostly commercial/building maintenance.Because of this board i have meet several people/friends and have learned from it as well.I have not posted much for a pretty long time though...life has gotten real busy and for a while,and i had found myself tird of the cleaning industry until recently.(It's time to find some new customers)LOL

I would pass on the addition of moderators untill you create the culture you want on the site.


You probably have all the members email addresses on file when they created their logon. You might try sending out an email to every person who has regesterd on the board to let them know of the changes you are making. That might help bring back inactive members.

Personally I would like to see a reduction in immigrant bashing. Being legal or illegal.

Aren't we all immigrants?

I agree with you Big John on a reduction in immigrant bashing. Being legal or illegal. My old partner is legal and one of the kindest people I know. And I gave her this web site. But I m thinking it may have been a mistake. I would no way want to hurt her in any way. Arent we all people just trying to make a living?

No one has ever bashed legal Immigrants on this board.
A lot of the mentions of it were always directed towards
illegal aliens and the people who break the law in hiring them.
For one I will always warn people, especially beginners of
the legal consequences they face from hiring illegal aliens.

Remember there is a big difference between the both of them.

Illegal alien (illegal immigrant)
A foreigner who has entered or resides in a country unlawfully, or without the country's authorization.

Resident alien (legal Immigrants)
An alien who has legally established residence in the U.S.

OOOHHHHH RJ you know you are my hero but there have been a few discussions on here that have gotten a little harsh. harsh might not be the right word for it but what can I say. I do want to take back what I said about maybe giving this web site was a mistake. because this is a great place to learn and to have a good time talking with people from every different place in this crazy world we live in.
