I don't bother charging by the hour anymore and would rather give a bid for the property. It makes it easier on the customer and easy on you.

The low end of the national average is $23.00/hr. I can tell you that I should be charging $25.00, but I'm not. I think it depends on what the market will bear in your area. I would think in Spokane you could do much better than $18.00/hr. Call around to the competition and see what they're charging and go from there.

    Hi,

I live in the Puget Sound area.  Around here they are charging $35 to $40 an hour.  I bid by the job and average between $35 and $50 an hour.  Some unlicensed independent cleaners are charging $20.

Apartment cleaning starts around $175 for a one bedroom one bath.

    I hope this helps.

I would counter that what you charge really depends upon if you are operating in a legal fashion.  If you are legal then the going rate is much higher than what the illegals are offering their services at.  Right now if you are charging 18 an hour you are in the realm of the illegals.
