Thanks for the reminder krs.  I actually have all of my taxes shipped off to my accountant, so I'm ready to go.

    I hate taxes.

Sometimes it feels like all I do is pay taxes all friggen year.

I feel like I'm busting my a$$ to help make the government richer

for them to be able to afford more expensive toys, better health plans for them, bigger raises, more exspencive prostitutes, and better retirement plans so they can retire younger and richer.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I hate taxes. Taxes, taxes, and MORE taxes. All I do is pay taxes, all year long... all fricken year. My company is not that big, lol. It's microscopic, so why aren't my tax bills microscopic too? Um, I really do know the answer to that question, lol, but I have my taxpayer hat on right now. :) I'm just venting!

I hate taxes. Hate them. Hate them. HATE them. Confession. I was late with quarters 3 & 4 this year. Let me tell you, I have paid dearly as a result too. Don't ever be late if you can help it. Ever. You will live..but you will live to regret it, and you won't ever forget it and neither will the IRS. Once you are late, the IRS somehow manages to rebill you for the same quarters over and over again, lol. The magic of compound interest isn't a good thing when you're the one paying it and not earning it. .

Anyway, my company taxes for 2007 are DONE... FINALLY... as of last week. YAY!!!

Now here with we go with 2008. Waa!!! Quarter 1 is due in two weeks. BOO! HOO!

Year 3 is kicking my butt. It looks like it's time for me to incorporate or form an S corp. I dunno. My company is apparently ready for the next step. I personally cannot afford to continue as a sole proprietor, which is GOOD news and BAD news at the same time

THANK YOU to the original poster for starting this thread. I feel better knowing that RJ is suffering right along with me. :) Sorry,. RJ, but I'm happy to hear that I'm in good company. :)

Thanks for the heads up, RJ. I like the sound of the S-corp because you can avoid those hefty SE taxes. I felt like I'd been robbed this year, lol. I don't ever want to do that again. UGH. ;)

    Re: Taxes

I know what you mean, we save about $8k a year by switching.

We were paying the max in social.

Plus I did it for the reason of protecting our personal assets.

So now I can say, I'm sorry I am just an employee, lol.

The bad thing is now my sep-ira I can not put money in.

When I was sole I was aloud to drop up to 40K a year in my retirement,

which made a real good tax defer.

Now that I'm corp. I have to open a simple IRA and by the government

rules I am only aloud to claim 10K and the company can match $1300

I can use the SEP but the limit is lower than the simple.

So some how the government finds a way to screw us

BUT, I look at the bright side; there is always a loop hole some where.

LOL! Maybe you're accidentally hitting the "enter" key between each line as you type. ;)
