    licensing question

I live on a farm which has a name licensed by the state and was thinking of using the business name of the farm along with cleaning behind it: do I need to license also under cleaning? How do I get licensed I guess is the question.

    Re: licensing question

Some states do not require a license to have a cleaning business, call the city you live in, and find out. As longer your business is registered with the state, this is all you need in most cases. Adding your cleaning business to your farm name is not a good idea. You can not operate a cleaning business using your farm license, since those two businesses have not much in common, plus you would expose yourself to a liability that may cost you your farm. Keep it separate keep it simple. Call the city or your tax guy and let him know that you would like to open a cleaning business, and he will point you in the correct direction.
