Bri,
My husband had actually been working for a subcontracting company for many years. I started questioning why he was working his butt off for their company and they were getting all of the profit and paying him just barely over minimum wage. I started researching in late 2005 about how to start and run a cleaning company while I was working at a catering company for a large corporation. When that corporation decided to downsize some of the ammenities catering was the first to go, so we were again with only one income and it was winter time so construction cleaning was at a halt. I started cleaning for friends and neighbors for extra money. I had such sucess with residential houses that in August 2007 we decided that this was what we wanted to do. We both like cleaning and it gives us the opportunity to be home to get our children off to school and be there to pick them up. We are able to go to all of the field trips and volunteer in the classrooms. We live in a high income area in a great school district. In the last 5 years we have went from about 10 large neighborhoods to about 30. Every nook and cranny of Mattawan has been turned into a subdivision of expensive homes with usually two working adults. No matter how the economy is people still need their houses cleaned. I hope I answered your question Bri. Please feel free to ask questions, I don't mind. :)
