    EXCEL Formatting

Can anybobody help me figure out why I'm unable to change the colors on my spreadsheet to a "theme" on Excel 2007? The spreadsheet in question was made with Excel 2003... I think... and whenever I click to change its colors to a theme, it does nothing. Am I going to have to recreate it using the 2007 version of Excel? Thanks for any help. :)

    I got this from Microsoft:

Compatibility with earlier versions of Excel   You can check an Office Excel 2007 workbook to see if it contains features or formatting that are not compatible with an earlier version of Excel so that you can make the necessary changes for better backward compatibility. In earlier versions of Excel, you can install updates and converters that help you open an Office Excel 2007 workbook so that you can edit it, save it, and open it again in Office Excel 2007 without losing any Office Excel 2007-specific functionality or features.

Hazel, did you try to open it, save it, then reopen again in 2007 before trying to make changes?  That would be my guess.

Voila!  Eureka!  I think I've found it!

There's a compatibility download on Microsoft.  It's called the "Compatibility Pack"

    Check it out.  :)

Well, when Hazel tells me it works after taking my suggestion, I'll accept that compliment.  LOL  I could be totally wrong!  Hopefully that helps solve it.

I love to research and learn.  And share.  Can you tell?

    :)~
