An old post: local bus. lists from Univ. library

Hi everyone.....quite awhile back (maybe in 2005?), I read a marketing idea on the board, involving going to a local University and having to use a "special sign-in" process to gain a list of local businesses. It was a somewhat lengthy post going into detail of how to gain the info. and how to use it for marketing once you get it. I even think it said something about being able to set certain parameters for what kind/size, etc.. of businesses you want to find so you can market to a certain "target market". I searched and searched high and low here in the board and can't seem to find it now. I also think it may have been in regards to MA univerity libraries only, but I may be wrong, could be all of U.S. Does anyone know where it is? Also, will entertain any other similar marketing ideas as we are on a "marketing blitz"! Thanks in advance, Mark M., Director of Operations, The Cleaning Lady, Inc.

Hey RJ.....Yep, it's me! LOL I tend to "flip-flop" between all the boards, sometimes months before returning. Depends I guess on what I'm looking for or have to provide others. Yes, we have a new Sr. Staff that's been with us for 7 years and is slowly integrating into the office, performing various duties such as marketing research/development, scheduling, inventory, etc... I will look for the info. once again in private section or search for JT posts. All I remember is that it was on this board that I saw the post and that it was a good idea! Anyone else know what I'm talking about? Thanks all, and take care Rob. Mark M., The Cleaning Lady, Inc. www.cleaningladyinc.com

never mind...I was gonna give you the run down on it. If you have any trouble with it just let me know. You do understand that you must FIRST log on IN the library...then you have to log on to the library site from your house to get to it. You can't google it and log on without using the library site as a 'filter' so to speak.

Re: An old post: local bus. lists from Univ. library

That's what I gathered after re-reading the posts in the private section a few times. My 19yr. old son is @ UMass/Dartmouth F/T now and I'll have him sign in and start the process, then I'll follow up at home. I do have one question though, do you sign off @ the library or just walk away? Seems like if you sign off, you won't be able to get back into RefUSA at home. Oh well, was just wondering. Thanks again for the help/tips. Mark, Dir. of Operations, The Cleaning Lady, Inc. www.cleaningladyinc.com

You sign off. It lets you sign back on because YOU AT HOME will need to go to the library site at UMass/Dartmouth.... then go from there. Does that make sense? For example...I have to go to www.jocolibrary.org...then go from there.
